Dutch Green Beans

This quick and easy side dish is made with canned green beans and other pantry staples, perfect for when you're short on time. Tossing in the onion at the end enhances the flavor for an extra boost.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 14.5 ounces green beans, low sodium
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 small onion sliced

Instructions
 

  • Drain the beans and save the liquid from the can in a small bowl.
  • Pour 1/2 cup bean liquid into a saucepan.
  • Add the cornstarch to the bean liquid and stir.
  • Add vinegar and brown sugar.
  • Turn the heat on to medium and bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, turn the heat to low and add the green beans and onions. Heat and serve.
