Meet Our Hunger Relief Federation Member Resurrection Food Pantry of Green Bay

Feb 11, 2025

Hunger Task Force is the founding member of the Hunger Relief Federation, which is a statewide association of independent food banks and food pantries. Resurrection Food Pantry of Green Bay, a member of the federation since 2017, is dedicated to fighting local hunger at the food pantry which is open on Thursday’s.

In January of 2025, 321 households received free, healthy food at Resurrection Food Pantry of Green Bay, which equates to nearly 900 individuals served. What’s more, the food pantry served 3,183 families in 2024 and distributed 271,465 lbs. of food.

Larry didn’t set out to be the pantry manager, but shortly after he started volunteering the current manager retired. Luckily for Larry, he joined the Hunger Relief Federation and quickly got the information he needed to understand how to efficiently run the food pantry. To this day, Larry finds a lot of value being a Hunger Relief Federation member. In fact, he says being in his role is exactly what he needed to give his life fulfillment after a long and successful career as an engineer and then customer service manager.

“What we can do is eliminate hunger for a specific family or group of families,” said Larry. “When I look at my records, I can see that 602 families have reached the objective of being self-sufficient over the last two years. It’s incredible and this tells me that people come to the pantry when they really need it.”

Larry also represents Resurrection Food Pantry of Green Bay as the chairman of the Brown County Hunger Coalition, which aims to combat food insecurity and hunger in the Green Bay community by educating, empowering and fostering collaboration.
