
Gouda and Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwich
This sandwich is sweet, savory, and oh-so comforting. It's easy to make and may be your new favorite way to enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches! This recipe makes two sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 Granny Smith apple peeled and thinly sliced
- 4 slices smoked or regular gouda cheese
- Butter
Instructions
- Lay out two slices of brad and add one slice of cheese to both pieces.
- Divide the apple slices in half between two sandwiches and add apple slices on top of each slice of cheese.
- Top with another slice of cheese, and then place the buttered slices on top.
- Spread butter on top piece of bread.
- Heat the skillet over medium heat. Lay the sandwiches with the buttered bread touching the skillet, then butter the top piece of bread.
- Place a sandwich press or heavy bottom skillet on top of the sandwiches to press them down.
- Cook on each side until browned. Serve immediately.
