Turkey Giniling

This tasty Filipino dish is both sweet and savory. It's packed with nutrients and is high in protein. Raisins, chickpeas, carrots, and potatoes are cooked with ground turkey and mixed with oyster sauce and soy sauce, making it a meal that you won't want to miss!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 medium Red onion diced
  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 2 medium Carrots chopped
  • 1 cup White potatoes (about 2 white potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup Raisins (Golden raisins work as well)
  • 1 15.5 oz can Garbanzo beans (chickpeas) drained and rinsed
  • 2 tsp Tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Low sodium soy sauce
  • Salt and black pepper for taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium high heat. Once it becomes hot, add minced garlic. Stir until fragrant.
  • Add chopped onion. Stir for 1 minute.
  • Add ground turkey. Stir and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until turkey is fully cooked.
  • Add chopped potatoes and carrots. Stir to mix. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • Pour soy sauce and oyster sauce. Mix gently.
  • Add chickpeas and raisins. Stir until chickpeas and raisins are incorporated throughout the dish.
  • Add tomato paste. Mix to combine and let it cook for a few minutes before turning off the heat. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve with rice and enjoy!

Notes

Short on time? Use canned potatoes and frozen peas and carrots instead of chopping your own.
