Hunger Task Force Teams Up with Sargento Cheese and the Milwaukee Brewers to Feed Families

The Milwaukee Brewers ™ and Sargento Cheese teamed up to support hungry families in Milwaukee. Every time the Milwaukee Brewers ™ hit a double during the regular season, Sargento donated $200 to Hunger Task Force. Because the Brewers were so successful at the plate hitting a total of 249 doubles this season, $49,800 was donated to Hunger Task Force to provide healthy meals for children, families and seniors in need through the food bank’s network of food pantries, homeless shelters and meal sites.

Since the inception of Double Helping for Hunger, Sargento has donated a total of $297,200 to Hunger Task Force. While the playoffs didn’t end as we’d hope, many of our neighbors in need will be fed because of the success the Brewers enjoyed during the regular season.

Hunger Task Force is Milwaukee’s Free & Local food bank and Wisconsin’s anti-hunger leader. The organization’s core values are Dignity, Justice, Equity, Compassion and Stewardship. Hunger Task Force feeds people today by providing healthy and culturally appropriate food to hungry children, families and seniors in the community absolutely free of charge. Hunger Task Force also works to end future hunger by advocating for strong public policies and nutrition programs at the local, state and federal level.
