We believe in the power of collaboration, and that’s why we’re thrilled to recognize our amazing supporters through “Partner of the Month,” a platform to celebrate the incredible local organizations, businesses and companies who join us in the fight against hunger. They donate food, volunteer their time, raise awareness and provide financial support – strengthening our work in preventing hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger-free community tomorrow.

Piggly Wiggly
Piggly Wiggly is a community-focused grocery store chain deeply rooted in neighborhoods across the country. A pioneer of self-service shopping, it has grown into a network of both corporate and independently owned stores. With a strong commitment to serving local communities, Piggly Wiggly offers a wide range of fresh, affordable groceries, making it a trusted destination for families seeking quality and convenience.
For two decades, Piggly Wiggly has supported the Hunger Task Force mission to ensure kids, families and seniors have access to fresh, healthy food. Since 2005, Piggly Wiggly has contributed over $300,000 in monetary gifts and donated nearly 14,000 pounds of nutritious food to support our efforts. Their generosity has touched countless lives and continues to be a vital resource for those in need.
“Partnering with Hunger Task Force aligns with Piggly Wiggly’s commitment to community engagement and social responsibility,” shares Terry Goins, Piggly Wiggly’s Director of Marketing and Advertising. “By collaborating with a dedicated organization like Hunger Task Force, Piggly Wiggly can contribute to alleviating hunger and malnutrition within the communities where we live, work and serve.”
The Mobile Market is perhaps the most visible symbol of our partnership. Operated by Hunger Task Force and stocked by Piggly Wiggly, this “grocery store on wheels” travels to underserved communities across Milwaukee County. It brings fresh produce, meat, dairy and essential groceries directly to areas where access to affordable, healthy food is limited. This innovative initiative has transformed food deserts into places of hope and nourishment.
In 2024, Piggly Wiggly elevated their commitment to ending local hunger by becoming the Signature Partner of the Wisconsin State Fair Opening Day $5 admission promotion. This month, 65 enthusiastic volunteers from Piggly Wiggly, including Mr. Pig himself, dedicated 227 hours of service to collect food donations from fairgoers and educate the community about the vital work Hunger Task Force does across the state. Their efforts made our largest food drive event of the year a resounding success by bringing in a total of 40,000 pounds of healthy fruits and vegetables.
Their annual Golf Outing has often benefited Hunger Task Force. The “Chocolate for a Cause” promotion is the latest in a series of creative initiatives – each bar sold at over 30 Piggly Wiggly stores helps fund our programs.
Piggly Wiggly’s support goes beyond financial contributions and food donations. They’ve engaged deeply with our mission by hosting on-site training for their team leaders and store staff to empower them to be advocates for hunger relief.
“This collaboration creates opportunities for Piggly Wiggly owner and employee involvement and volunteerism, further strengthening the bonds we have with our communities. We are proud of our partnership with Hunger Task Force and will continue to support the organization,” says Goins.
