Triple Impact: Hunger Task Force Volunteers Donate Time, Food and Funds for Holiday Food Drive
The holidays are a time for giving, and this past year, the Hunger Task Force’s dedicated volunteers took it to the next level. In our first-ever Volunteer Food Drive, held alongside the crucial Food For Families campaign, volunteers stepped up in a remarkable way by donating both food and funds – alongside their usual service – to support Milwaukee families facing hunger.
The response was overwhelming. Collectively, our dedicated volunteers donated 2,308 pounds of healthy food, a testament to the community’s commitment to fighting hunger. But the generosity didn’t stop there. Nearly 100 volunteers stepped up financially, collectively raising an additional $6,917.
“Volunteers are the backbone of our mission, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication to Hunger Task Force inside and outside of our building,” remarked Julia Prange, Volunteer Program Manager at Hunger Task Force. “Witnessing volunteers not only donate their time but also financially support our mission was truly heartwarming.”
The first Volunteer Food Drive proved to be a resounding success, not just in terms of numbers but also in the heartening display of solidarity. Fueled by the inspiring generosity of our volunteers, Hunger Task Force stands poised on the precipice of a new year. We’re ready to roll up our sleeves, channel their spirit and make Milwaukee a place where no one goes hungry.
