Meet the new faces of Hunger Task Force
The principal strength of Hunger Task Force is its compassionate and committed staff. As an anti-hunger organization, Hunger Task Force commits to hiring staff with an array of skills, talents and the cultural competence to best serve our diverse community. Hunger Task Force is proud to announce the addition of three new faces to our Advocacy, Food and Development teams. We are thrilled to welcome Marnita, Erin and Sheila to their new roles at Hunger Task Force.
Marnita Hasan
FoodShare Advocate
Hunger Task Force recently welcomed Marnita Hasan to the Outreach Team as our newest FoodShare Advocate. Marnita, who attended University of Minnesota, joins the Hunger Task Force Advocacy Department with years of experience assisting Milwaukee’s most vulnerable as an Income Maintenance Specialist at the Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services (DHS).
As a FoodShare Advocate, Marnita educates and assists eligible clients at Alicia’s Place FoodShare Resource Center on how to apply for and maintain their FoodShare benefits. FoodShare Advocates also connect Milwaukee families and seniors to other federal nutrition programs for which they may quality.
Erin Breggeman
Community Dietitian
A Wisconsin native, Erin Breggeman has a passion for healthy eating and joins the Hunger Task Force Food Team as the Community Dietitian. Erin is a graduate of UW-Stevens Point with a degree in Dietetics and completed her dietetic internship at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI before teaching nutrition education for the University of Missouri.
As the Community Dietitian, Erin provides expert direction on healthy eating and strategies for implementing the MyPlate model to local pantries, meal sites and shelters. Erin serves as the technical expert on nutrition content for Hunger Task Force and the Hunger Relief Federation developing and teaching recipes to accompany the commodities, food donations and farm produce Hunger Task Force distributes.
Sheila Carter
Volunteer Coordinator
Bringing years of experience in customer service, non-profit management and community outreach to the Development Team, Sheila Carter joins Hunger Task Force as the Volunteer Coordinator. Sheila is a graduate of Mount Mary University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and certification in Peacebuilding.
Sheila is no stranger to the Hunger Task Force mission and previously worked as Program Coordinator and Manager at Clinton Rose Senior Center – a member of the Hunger Task Force network. In her role as Volunteer Coordinator, she will recruit, schedule, coordinate, train and steward Hunger Task Force’s volunteer groups and individuals.
