Partner of the Month: Junior League of Milwaukee | April 2025

Hunger Task Force isn’t just Milwaukee Free & Local food bank – we’re a community. We believe in the power of collaboration, and that’s why we’re thrilled to recognize our amazing supporters through “Partner of the Month,” a platform to celebrate the incredible local organizations, businesses and companies who join us in the fight against hunger. They donate food, volunteer their time, raise awareness and provide financial support – strengthening our work in preventing hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger-free community tomorrow.

Junior League of Milwaukee
Founded in 1915, the Junior League of Milwaukee (JLM) is dedicated to creating real change in the Greater Milwaukee Area. For over four years, JLM and Hunger Task Force have worked together to ensure that our neighbors have access to healthy food with dignity – a mission that aligns perfectly with the JLM’s focus on advancing impactful community projects by empowering women.
JLM focuses on supporting organizations who serve critical needs in the local community. With food being a basic need of everyone, JLM members find volunteering with the Hunger Task Force a direct opportunity to serve their neighbors and address that critical need. By our two organizations committing locally, we can see the work we do every day and develop lasting relationships; inspiring JLM members to come back and serve year over year.
With over 400 members, the JLM membership has historically supported local organizations that focus on the health and well-being of women and children in the community. Hunger and malnutrition impact every aspect of a family’s life and JLM loves knowing that the time spent with Hunger Task Force by collecting food or supporting their social initiatives has a ripple effect on our community. Both organizations know that the impact of a meal doesn’t stop at the dinner table!
JLM provides training opportunities for members to develop and explore their leadership skills through formal training and “on the job” training as leaders within the organization. This includes setting up or supporting community food drives or organizing a service day at The Farm.
