Mardi Smirl Helps the Community Give Back and Provides Ways to Support Our Mission

Oct 7, 2024

The principal strength of Hunger Task Force is its compassionate and committed staff. As an anti-hunger organization, Hunger Task Force hires staff with an array of skills, talents and the cultural awareness to best serve our diverse community. We are thrilled to announce Mardi Smirl has transitioned roles to be our Community Relations Manager.

Having served as Front Office Coordinator for nearly 4.5 years, Mardi is a recognizable face at Hunger Task Force. Regarded for radiating positivity, she has developed strong relationships with corporate partners over the years and assisted with the coordination of sponsorships, events and food drives. In her new role, Mardi is responsible for managing Hunger Task Force’s corporate donor relationships, soliciting sponsorships, coordinating and staffing community events and registering and supporting virtual and in-person food drives for businesses and community groups in the greater Milwaukee area.

Mardi brings nearly 10 years of experience in member engagement at both the YMCA and Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center of Milwaukee into this new role.

Food For Families – Milwaukee’s most storied tradition of giving, feeding thousands of families during the holiday season – kicked off on Tuesday, October 1. Mardi is excited to help register food drives for groups and companies looking to support Hunger Task Force this holiday season.

Hunger Task Force is Milwaukee’s Free & Local food bank and Wisconsin’s anti-hunger leader. The organization’s core values are Dignity, Justice, Equity, Compassion and Stewardship. Hunger Task Force feeds people today by providing healthy and culturally appropriate food to hungry children, families and seniors in the community absolutely free of charge. Hunger Task Force also works to end future hunger by advocating for strong public policies and nutrition programs at the local, state and federal level.
