Piggly Wiggly and Hunger Task Force Team Up For $5 Admission to the Wisconsin State Fair

Jul 31, 2024

To celebrate the partnership, Piggly Wiggly is donating $25,000 in healthy food.

Piggly Wiggly and Hunger Task Force are excited to kick off the Wisconsin State Fair on Thursday, August 1, with Piggly Wiggly $5 Day during which fair goers can get in for just $5 when they donate two cans of healthy vegetables and fruits or make a cash donation to Hunger Task Force between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at any festival gate.

“Piggly Wiggly $5 Day at the Wisconsin State Fair is a convenient and cost-effective way to help our neighbors in need,” said Jonathan Hansen, Chief Strategy Officer at Hunger Task Force. “We are very appreciative of Piggly Wiggly’s partnership and encourage the public to stop by any Piggly Wiggly location, or a grocery store in your community, to pick up canned fruits or vegetables to help us feed hungry children, families and seniors this summer.”

Hunger Task Force will receive a donation of $25,000 worth of healthy food from Piggly Wiggly to help combat hunger in Milwaukee County. This significant contribution is in addition to the company’s partnership for the Wisconsin State Fair.

“On behalf of our more than 100 stores and 70 owners throughout the state of Wisconsin, we are proud to sponsor the fundraising event and make this sizeable donation to ensure more people have access to healthy foods this summer,” said Terry Goins, Director of Marketing and Advertising at Piggly Wiggly Midwest, LLC. “Piggly Wiggly volunteers will also donate their time on Piggly Wiggly $5 Day at the Wisconsin State Fair to collect food donations.”
