Gary Sievewright, the Managing Director for Raymond James & Associates, is a champion of Hunger Task Force. After he was relocated to Milwaukee and later accepted a job with Raymond James & Associates, he played a pivotal role in launching the Home 4 the Holidays campaign with Hunger Task Force and TMJ4. Now in its ninth year, the campaign has raised more than $300,000 for Hunger Task Force to provide holiday meals for our neighbors in need.
In addition to the campaign, Raymond James & Associates team members visit Hunger Task Force annually to hand out holiday hams and a variety of sides to Hunger Task Force’s nearly 70 network partners – meal sites, homeless shelters and food pantries – to provide to families and seniors so they can enjoy a delicious and nutritious holiday meal.
“Giving back is highly encouraged for Raymond James employees and embedded in our company culture,” says Sievewright. “Participating in the distribution enables our employees to give more than just personal or corporate money. There are so many benefits including that it feels good to help and the distribution is fun.”
Sieverwright chose to support our efforts to alleviate hunger because there is no division when it comes to food – we all need to eat. “I think hunger brings everybody together because it doesn’t know a season,” Sievewright adds. “Hunger doesn’t know a race or an age group. Hunger literally touches every demographic there is.”
Sievewright is a member of the Executive Council – a group of local leaders who support the Hunger Task Force mission and vision and provide guiding leadership. “Being involved civically in your community is more than just the obligation of giving your time and money, there are incredibly positive benefits that come from it for your corporate and personal brand,” says Sievewright.
His nine-year commitment through Raymond James & Associates has positively impacted hundreds of children, families and seniors in the Milwaukee area.
