Hunger Task Force and Palermo’s Distribute 500 “Easter Baskets for the Hungry” to Local Families in Need
Now in its 15th year, Palermo’s and Hunger Task Force have partnered to host “Easter Baskets for the Hungry.” Palermo’s Easter Baskets for the Hungry is an annual event that provides a hot Easter meal and other food to families and seniors in our community.
“Over the years, we’ve done so many amazing events with Sherrie and Hunger Task Force,” said Laura Fallucca, chief creative officer for Palermo’s. “Since we’ve started this partnership, we’ve done over 15,000 easter baskets, and we feel good knowing that everything goes to the families for free.”
Each box contained food for an Easter dinner, such as a fresh ham, apples, carrots, potatoes, whole grain pasta and pasta sauce, breakfast cereal, Easter treats, Palermo’s frozen pizza, and much more. Hunger Task Force works with its local pantry network to identify 500 families in need who will be recipients of the Easter Boxes just before the holiday.
“Not everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy an Easter Meal during the holiday, ” said Hunger Task Force executive director Sherrie Tussler. “We are grateful to Palermo’s and their partnership over the years. They have provided Easter meals for so many families in our community.”
Palermo’s and Hunger Task Force have partnered on Easter Baskets for the Hungry since 2008.
